Sinopsis; Bella, hija de un armador de buques, se ofrece como rehén a La Bestia para liberar a su padre, que ha caído en poder del monstruo. Poco a poco, Bella va venciendo el terror que La Bestia le produce y un sentimiento de conmiseración nace en ella.
Comentario; Una obra maestra del cine fantastico frances de postguerra, con una lograda ambientacion. Mucho mejor que el remake de la Disney.
