Sinopsis;Una pareja de alegres, joviales y sofisticados millonarios fallece en un accidente de tráfico. Al no haber acumulado en su vida los suficientes actos buenos o malos para ir al paraíso o al infierno, los Kerby se quedan deambulando como fantasmas. Pero tienen la oportunidad de salir del limbo si ambos hacen una buena acción. Es entonces que deciden ayudar a su amigo Topper, un hombre gris, presidente de un banco donde realizaban la mayoría de sus transacciones financieras.
Topper es un agradable y tranquilo hombre que nunca rompe su rutina. Casado con una maternal esposa que cuida de todas sus necesidades, puede decirse que Topper es un personaje aburrido y predecible.
Los Kerby acostumbrados a la excitante vida nocturna, clubes, locales nocturnos y salones de baile, se presentan ante Topper y después que se recupera del susto, lo introducen en un nuevo estilo de vida que conmociona a su escandalizada esposa. Liberado de toda formalidad, el nuevo Topper empieza a disfrutar de sus escapadas….
