Sinopsis; Mary Carter hereda una vieja casa familiar, localizada en una pequeña isla cerca de Cuba. A pesar de los avisos y las amenazas, decide tomar posesión de la "presunta" casa encantada. Le acompañará en su viaje Larry Lawrence, un locutor de radio que huye de Nueva York pensando que ha asesinado a un hombre de la mafia.
Comentario; theycame2001 en cine-clasico escribio: George Marshall era un maestro de la comedia satírica ("Arizona" (1939), com Marlene Dietrich es otro ejemplo), y demostró ser un sólido director a la hora de enfrentarse con argumentos híbridos, como éste. En este caso el gag no es lo más importante, sino el para mí muy estimable tono festivo que tiene toda la película, donde se mezcla el humor con el suspense, pero donde prevalece ante todo un espíritu de aventura, de improvisación. Los escenarios dan mil oportunidades para la aventura, que George Marshall sabe servir atractivamente al espectador.
